Yesterday, the European Union announced that it is reopening its borders to fully vaccinated visitors—with an approved vaccine. The EU will finalize the list of safe countries based on epidemiological criteria this Friday 21 May. The new measures could go into effect as early as next week. This would open the door to Americans, who have been receiving shots from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
This is good news as we can now can resume our tours to Europe in the late summer and fall.
Since the countries on our European tour itineraries, including Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, will require proof of a vaccine for entry, if you have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, we encourage you to do so. We do not want any of our guests prevented from traveling with us because they are not vaccinated.
An additional note: European countries will have the right to revise or amend these measures if they wish to take a more conservative approach. An example would be requiring negative PCR tests or quarantines for certain visitors. As such, we will keep you apprised of any other requirements for European travel.
Please feel free to contact us at any time for additional information.
We appreciate your patience and loyalty throughout this very difficult time and look forward to traveling with you again—finally!
With gratitude,
From all of us at Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours
