Erik Flint is an experienced historian who specializes in the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation. In 2022, Erik retired as a lieutenant colonel after spending 35 years as both an enlisted United States Marine and U.S. Army officer. During his time in uniform, Erik served throughout the world, including deployments to Iraq as a U.S. Special Operations Combat Historian and as a faculty member of the United States Army Command and General Staff College. Erik commanded Army organizations at all levels, from infantry rifle squad to platoon, company, and battalion.

From 2015 to 2024, Erik served as a Department of the Army civilian and Director of the Lewis Army Museum on board Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. Though now retired from government service, Erik continues to serve soldiers and military family members as a museum volunteer and director emeritus.

Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in International Land Warfare Studies from American Military University. He resides in Tacoma, Washington, where he volunteers with a number of local history and heritage organizations.
