Stephen Oliver-Crockett
Stephen Oliver-Crockett specializes in leading Military History and cultural tours throughout Europe.
Based in Normandy, France, he particularly focus on the pivotal moments, and clandestine operations undertaken by the Allies and local resistance groups during the German military occupation of Mainland Europe.
He took part in his very first Normandy battlefield tour in 1978 & in 1982 – following his siblings and enlisting into the British Army where he served for 13 years with the colours. Whilst serving, he undertook various operational roles within specialized Arctic Warfare and Airborne Assault units. During his military service, he was deployed all over the world and has been fortunate to visit Battlefield sites such as Gallipoli & the Falkland Islands.
In 1996, he left the military & joined UK Law Enforcement where he completed 23 years public service involved in Serious & Organized Crime, Counter Terrorism, & Homicide investigations.
After retirement, he decided to put his Senior Detective skills to full use by studying the events of Operation Overlord in 1944, along the way achieving a master’s degree in Military History from Birmingham University.
When not sitting at his desk researching archival material for clients or for his PhD doctoral proposal, he will often be wandering through the Normandy Bocage with ‘Hamish’ his Bernese Mountain Dog.
