We are thrilled to announce our expansion into historical cruises!
Guests will enjoy the luxury and convenience of traveling aboard a cruise ship while experiencing the in-depth historical focus that defines a Stephen Ambrose tour. As with all of our tours, each cruise will feature a full-time professional historian and exclusive, private excursions unavailable to other cruise passengers.
Upcoming Historical Cruises
For our historical cruises in the United States, we are partnering with American Cruise Lines. Our first cruise will be the Civil War: Southeast Coast Cruise. Future cruises will include:
- Civil War: Tennessee River Cruise
- Revolutionary War: Potomac River & Chesapeake Bay Cruise
- Lewis & Clark Expedition: Columbia & Snake Rivers Cruise
We are also organizing a WWII river cruise in Europe that will offer an immersive journey through key battle sites along historic waterways. More details will be announced soon!
About American Cruise Lines
American Cruise Lines has been cruising the waterways of America for more than 50 years. The company was founded in 1972 by Charles A. Robertson, who was a shipbuilder. He started American Cruise Lines with his wife, Carol. Together, they worked to build the company from the ground up.
Their intimate ships are American-made and accommodate just 90 to 180 guests. The staterooms, most at more than 300 square feet, have spacious private balconies and feature a roomy private hotel-like bath and a large, opening picture window, allowing you spectacular up-close views of landscape, ports, river and sea. All include, high-speed internet.
Adding to the relaxing experience of travel from port to port on a cruise ship, all shipboard meals, entertainment, tips and gratuities, alcohol, and other port charges and fees are included.
