For students who cannot afford the time and cost of a lengthy study abroad program, or whose university does not offer a foreign study experience, Southeastern’s “Operation Overlord 2016” is an opportunity to learn about the Normandy Campaign not just from books but by walking the ground where history was made.
Studying abroad allows students to experience history firsthand and develop a deeper understanding of those who came before, the challenges they faced, and the sacrifices they made. Additionally, by engaging with peoples of different cultures, students discover that around the world people are not all that different from us.
