General FAQs

There are no difficult climbs nor excessively long walks on most of our trips. In certain areas of older cities we cannot always park the motorcoach immediately next to the historic attraction, so some walking is required. However, since these tours were originally designed with WWII veterans as guests, there is nothing that is overly taxing. For most tours, we can arrange for a fold up wheelchair to be on the bus as an option if needed.

We take you precisely where you need to be to study the history that occurred. You don’t have to rent a car or make your own hotel reservations. It can be more difficult to find the actual battlefields, landmarks and other important sites than you would expect. We also have a full-time historian on our tours, who adds immensely to your experience.

We prefer to limit our tours to a maximum of 35 travelers on European tours and 30 on American based tours. All tours have a minimum number. Please call us with any questions you have.

We have travelers of all ages, ranging from students to Veterans of WWII.

Yes. We often have travelers who do not share the passion for history of their traveling companion, but we always find that after a day or two into the tour that they are enjoying it much more than they expected.

Absolutely. Please contact us to make arrangements.

Accommodation & Travel

We book standard rooms in three- and four-star hotels. Rooms are reserved as follows:

  • Single: one person, one bed
  • Double: two people, one bed
  • Twin: two people, two beds

In Europe, there are no king-sized beds.

We have triple-accommodation rooms only for two adults and a child. There will only be two beds in a room. These rooms, especially in Europe, cannot accommodate three adults.

A modern, comfortable motorcoach.

Yes. We just ask that you please let us know what your dietary restrictions are ahead of time.

No. SAHT relies on airlines fees to keep luggage quantities at a manageable level. If a few guests are willing to pay the airlines for additional luggage, we can accommodate their luggage on the bus.

Tipping at the end of a tour is at your discretion.
