Rick Beyer, our historian for the Ghost Army Tour and president of the Ghost Army Legacy Project, has worked tirelessly to convince Congress to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the Ghost Army. Now, we hope you will help honor these men by mobilizing.

About the Ghost Army

The soldiers of The Ghost Army used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and imagination to fool the Germans on the battlefields of Europe. The unsung heroes of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops and the 3133rd Signal Company Special saved thousands of lives and helped win the war, but their efforts were kept secret for fifty years and have yet to be officially recognized.

Ghost Army Congressional Gold Medal

Bipartisan legislation to award a Congressional Gold Medal to The Ghost Army is moving forward in the 117th Congress.

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to pass the Ghost Army Gold Medal legislation on May 18, 2021.

The Senate bill, S 1404, currently has 47 co-sponsors. We need 67 Senators to co-sponsor in order to bring the measure up for a vote. We need just 20 more!

There are many ways to reach out to Senate offices. You can call, email, tweet, etc. Check out Rick’s Ghost Army Legacy Project website to find out how you can help these heroes FINALLY get the recognition they deserve.
