It is hard to believe that 25 years ago Stephen E. Ambrose’s book Band of Brothers was published. His extraordinary story of the ordinary men who fought in Easy Company during WWII is as engrossing a tale today as it was then. We are celebrating this anniversary and others on three special tours. Let us transport you from armchair traveler to see the very sites where history was made!
25th Anniversary Band of Brothers Tour
Stephen Ambrose’s seminal account of the legendary Easy Company, his best-selling book Band of Brothers, turns 25 this year. In celebration, we will be giving all guests who travel on our Band of Brothers Tour in 2017, a copy of the book and exclusive anniversary gifts.
75th Anniversary of D-Day Tour
Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours is now accepting reservations for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day Tour to attend the commemorations of the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy to be held in 2019. This tour promises to be a memorable occasion in many ways. With the number of WWII veterans decreasing rapidly, it may be one of the last times we are able to share their heroic experiences in the exact places that witnessed their bravery. Like previous D-Day anniversary tours, we expect the tour to sell out well in advance.
100th Anniversary of WWI Tour
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the U.S. joining its allies to fight in WWI, while 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. We are offering anniversary tours in both September of this year and next. Our historian for this tour, Chris Anderson, is a WWI expert who interviewed British veterans and many surviving American Doughboys while researching the First World War after college.
