Historian Kevin Hymel’s New Book

Kevin Hymel, the historian for our In Patton’s Footsteps Tour, has a new book coming out. Patton’s War: An American General’s Combat Leadership, Volume 1, November 1942—July 1944 will be released through the University of Missouri Press. The book covers Patton’s leadership from Operation Torch in North Africa through to Sicily, England, and France, right up to July 31, 1944, the eve of Patton’s command of Third Army on the continent.

Historian Rick Beyer Speaks on D-Day

Historian Rick Beyer, who leads our Ghost Army of WWII Tour, spoke at the National D-Day Memorial during the June 6, 2021 commemoration. As many of you know, he was at the memorial co-hosting a special History Happy Hour D-Day show live. Rick gave a short speech on the importance of remembering and legacy, with a mention of the Ghost Army as well as the introduction of veterans at the event.
