We are excited to announce our new tour: WWI: The Doughboys, which will run June 19 – 29, 2025. This exceptional new WWI tour celebrates General John Pershing’s American Expeditionary Forces—Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen—who fought on the Western Front and helped achieved victory in World War I.
As you travel through France, you will see the places where some of America’s foremost soldiers and statesmen fought, and where their characters were formed. The victors of World War II—George Patton, Douglas MacArthur, Harry Truman, Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., Mark Clark, and George C. Marshall—all experienced battle for the first time in World War I. You’ll trace their stories, as well as the stories of Medal of Honor recipients, such as Alvin York, Charles Whittlesey of the Lost Battalion, and Eddie Rickenbacker.
You will also visit some of the most spectacular battlefields in Europe, where America’s first tank battles and major aerial campaigns took place and which also saw exciting infantry actions and deeds of bravery. Your historian, an award-winner author of several books on WWI and an expert on the Doughboys and their lives, will take you to famous sites like Belleau Wood, but also to hidden gems unexplored by other tours, where he will share unforgettable stories of courage and sacrifice.
