Sixty lucky guests experienced a once-in-a-lifetime trip when they traveled to Lexington for the 250th anniversary of the battle that started it all. And thanks to our partners at Lexington History Museums (formerly known as the Lexington Historical Society) they enjoyed an up-close view of history rarely available.
The group was hosted by historians Chris Anderson and Rick Beyer – sharing their sharply different viewpoints!

After several days in Boston, they arrived in Lexington where they were welcomed by fife and drum for an opening night reception in the newly re-designed Lexington Depot, now home to a brand-new museum exhibit.

Each of the next two nights, half the group had a rare experience – a specially catered dinner at the Buckman Tavern. Now a historic site, this is the building where many Lexington militia spent the hours before the Battle of Lexington. Guests were thrilled to have a drink in the same taproom where Sam Adams and John Hancock conferred with Captain John Parker in the early hours of April 19th.

Guests also had a chance to go behind the scenes at Lexington History Museums’ archive, where the curatorial staff showed them items from the collection not currently on display, including the gun used by militiaman John Munroe at the battle.

On Friday the 18th, our group was given the unique opportunity to watch the arrival of Paul Revere from a special viewing area right in front of the Hancock Clarke House. More than 7000 people attended this event – but no one had a better watching spot than us!

And on the morning of the 19th, we had the best seats in the house for the Battle of Lexington – bleachers set up right on one end of the Green.

We worked with Lexington History Museums for the last two years to ensure this trip would be a spectacular one for guests.
