Wake Island is a battle both remembered and lamented as one of the greatest battles of the War in the Pacific. Though the island fell to the overwhelming forces of the Japanese invasion fleet in late December, the “Magnificent Fight” exhibited by the Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Civilians in December 1941 against overwhelming odds stands as one of the epic struggles in the annals of warfare and the only time in WWII an amphibious invasion was tossed back into the sea.
Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours has the rare opportunity to bring guests to Wake Island on December 12, 2015.
If there is enough interest, we will organize a tour, approximately one week long, visiting sites in Hawaii and Guam before a day trip to Wake Island.
If you are interested in traveling with us on the Wake Island Tour in December, please call or email us as soon as possible!
